Lila McGinn

COMMERCE — On Jan. 7, 2014, Heaven’s gate open and another angel entered.

Lila also known as Granny was born Oct. 24 in Caddo Mills to Elmer and Sinah Cox. From that day forward Granny lived her life working to serve her Lord Jesus Christ, witnessing to every person she came in contact with.

Granny never had a bad word to say about anyone whoever needed anything; she was always there to lend a hand.

On Oct. 31, 1942, Lila married Aurbrey Claude who preceded her in death. On Jan. 9, 1993, she married her second husband, Nobel McGinn, in Caddo Mills.

Lila is preceded in death by her parents; both husbands Buddy Talley and Nobel McGinn; a son, Stanford Talley; a stepson Nobel G. McGinn.

Lila is survived by a daughter-in-law, Lorena Talley of Commerce; two grandsons, Steven and wife Macey Talley of Wolfe City and John and wife Kelli Talley of Commerce; one granddaughter, Michelle and husband Chris Basham of Commerce; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Brooklyn, Olivia, Connor, and Anna Cate Talley, Brittney and Hayley Basham.

She is also survived by five stepchildren, Jerry and wife Bonita McGinn, June Hill, Sandra Casey, Joyce Reeves, and Beth Chapman; a caretaker. Darlene Faulk, and very special nurse Rebecca Chambers, along with a host of nieces and nephews and friends that she loved dearly.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Healing Waters Church, future home of Crosspower Cowboy Church on Highway 11 and Highway 224, in Commerce. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m, at Commerce Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
