Rogene Page

WOLFE CITY — Billie Rogene Page, 90, passed away April 22, 2013, in Midland.

She was born in Wolfe City on June 1, 1922, to Charlie and Lura Wooley. She attended school in Wolfe City and graduated from Wolfe City High School.

She married Vaughn Page on Dec. 10, 1941. She lived in Wolfe City until she moved to Midland in late 2006 to be near her son, Bobby.

Most importantly, Rogene was a believer in Jesus and a daily witness of her Lord through her kind spirit and caring heart.

She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was a caregiver to Vaughn when he was diagnosed with diabetes at age 30 until his death at 82.

She took dietitian classes at the hospital in Sherman and learned how to care for him. She weighed food portions and gave insulin shots.

She observed bruises and scratches incurred while farming, resulting in application of medication to prevent infection. During the stay in the nursing home the last five years of his life, she would sit with him each day to ensure his proper care.

She would have an occasional meal with family or friends, but had to return to the nursing home to be with “daddy” for supper.  She also worked more than 30 years for a company in Wolfe City that published school pictures and yearbooks.

She is survived by her only child, Bobby Page and wife Celia of Midland; one grandson, Mark Page and wife Melissa of Southlake; one granddaughter, Hallye Knight and husband Kraig of Granbury; one stepgranddaughter, Dianne Childers and husband Shaun of Midland; four great-granddaughters; one great-grandson and seven stepgreat-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, her husband and one grandson, Russell Page.

Visitation is set at 1 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.

Remembrances may be made to a charitable organization of one’s choice.
