Chloe Brindley

— Chloe Verne Chumbley Brindley, 93, passed away January 12, 2013, in Beaumont.

She was born December 29, 1919, in Klondike to Jimmie Joel and Inez Ruth Jackson Chumbley.

After graduating from Klondike High School, Chloe Verne attended East Texas State Teachers College for one year. She then moved to Dallas, where she was employed by East Texas Motor Freight as a secretary.

Chloe Verne met her husband, Olin Porter Brindley, in Dallas. They resided in Oak Cliff, Garland, and Beaumont during their 46-year marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother G.A. “Buddy” Chumbley; and her sister-in-law Billy Glover Chumbley.

Chloe Verne is survived by her brothers Dan Claude Chumbley of Garland, and Raymond Chumbley and his wife Norma of Beaumont. Local survivor was her cousin Val Jean Jackson Burrow of Cooper.
