JoAnn McClintock Lindsey passed away May 24, 2013, in Dallas following a long, courageous battle with throat cancer.
She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Dallas, a devout Christian with complete trust in God and her Savior, Jesus Christ, and is now in Heaven with all her loved ones who predeceased her.
She had a good sense of humor and an undying positive outlook toward life, health and her faith until her last moments.
She was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Corsicana to James Guy McClintock and Willie Lucille Rutherford McClintock and lived in Dallas for most of her life, graduating from Highland Park High School in 1949.
JoAnn had a great love for music and sang occasionally with the USO, with several groups in the Dallas area, and often with her husband, an accomplished musician.
JoAnn worked for H.J. Gruy and Associates for many years and Northern Telecom as an administrative assistant. By an earlier marriage she had two children and in March 1975 married Ralph Lindsey; they enjoyed 38 years of loving life together.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Ralph Lindsey; son Daniel Graham Terrill of Greenville; daughter Kathryn Collins and husband Daniel of Greenville; grandson Adam Goodchild; stepgrandchild Jessica Collins; sister June Coke; brother J. Guy McClintock and wife Sybil; Ralph’s daughters, Dana Penhaker and husband Kevin; grandchildren Tim and Julie Tolentino, Dani George and grandchildren Jonathan, Daniel and Eric George; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Freeman Heights Baptist Church, 1120 N. Garland Avenue, in Garland (75040).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society .
