Death Notice
Bennie Delean Pickens Owens of Rockwall died March 2, 2008, at her home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel. Burial follows in Merit Cemetery in Merit.
Betty Sue Owens, 80, of Greenville died March 2, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Park Street Baptist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Burial follows in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Kathleen Peerbolt, 78, of Greenville died March 4, 2008. Services are pending with Lynch Funeral Service.
Betty Arline Skinner, 64, of Quinlan died the night of March 3, 2008, in her residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Aldersgate Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Clara Tatum Stovall Smith, 99, of Campbell died March 3, 2008. A graveside service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday in Restland Memorial Park under the direction of Restland Funeral Home of Dallas.
Christopher Snyder, 25, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Feb. 26, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nev. services are Saturday at 1 p.m. in Restland-Abbey Chapel in Dallas followed by burial in Restland Memorial Park. Local arrangements are by Lynch Funeral Service.
Leonard Alexander
CADDO MILLS — Services for Leonard Alexander wil be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Rentfrow Funeral Home chapel. Mr. Alexander died Feb. 28, 2008.
Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The son of S.D. and Nellie Carcity Alexander, he was born May 12, 1941, in Henderson. He worked for the Caddo Mills Cotton Gin prior to its closing a few years ago.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his mother of Farmersville; a daughter, Vicki Turner-Rayson of Marshall; one sister, Lustine Hemphill of Caddo Mills; three grandchildren, Selin Turner of College Station and Alexandra and Savion Rayson of Marshall; and a great-granddaughter, Selina Rayson of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his father, S.D. Alexander and wife Betty White Turner Alexander, and two brothers, Elex Alexander and T.J. Alexander.
Clara Hanna
Clara Collins Hana, 69, of Farmersville died March 1, 2008, in her home.
She was born Nov. 11, 1938, to Violet and Allen Collins in Knott County, Ky. During her life she was a nurse, and she was a member of the Merit Baptist Church.
Survivors are her mother, Violet Burton of Merit; her sister, Wilma Domenico of Merit; a brother-in-law, Robert Domenico of Merit; and nephews Bill Domenico and wife Crystal and Keith Domenico, all of Merit.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1961 and her brother, Charles Collins, in 1993.
A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday at Merit Cemetery in Merit under the direction of Lynch Funeral Service of Greenville.

Rose Anna Hoskins
Rose Anna Hoskins, 99, of Greenville died Feb. 29, 2008, at Green Crest Manor. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Greenville with Dr. R. Charles Williams officiating. Burial is in Benton Hill Cemetery in Point.
Born Aug. 17, 1908, in Point, she was the daughter of Clark and Nina Thomas. She was married to Raymond Lester Hoskins on April 1, 1928. Mrs. Hoskins was a homemaker and was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.
Survivors are two sons, Fonzell Hoskins and Thurman Hoskins (Geraldine) of Greenville; a daughter, Ruby Hammond of Greenville; 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and 44 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 77 years, three sisters, four brothers, two daughters and four sons.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home.

Ruby Marshall
Ruby Lee Marshall, 94, of Greenville died the evening of March 3, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Webb officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The daughter of H.S. and Laura Clayton Patterson, she was born Dec. 9, 1913, in Sulphur Springs. On April 13, 1937, she was married to John Thomas Marshall in Sulphur Springs.
Mrs. Marshall was a seamstress for Shirey’s and Howard Wolf. She was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Marshall is survived by a son, John William Marshall of Celeste; a daughter, Martha Kay Hill of Greenville; brother Billy Joe Patterson of Houston; two sisters, Lillian Meadows and Lucille Terrell; granddaughter Andrea Marshall Holt; grandsons William Hill and wife Rebecca and Brian Marshall and wife Kari; great-grandchildren Heather Tredway and husband Brian, Alexandrea Hill, Christopher and Jordan Holt and Tori, Shyane and Justin; and two great-great-grandsons, Kamerin and Sayge.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
David Diggs, Bil Beck and Jimmy Schulze are pallbearers.

Nell Moser
Nell Moser, 81, of Greenville died March 4, 2008, at Greenville Health and Rehabilitation Center. services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Randy Langford officiating. Burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery in Rains County.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Moser was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Hopkins County to Walter F. and Emma Elizabeth Schumate McCormack. On Aug. 29, 1942, she married Jack G. Moser in Hunt County.
She worked in the cafeteria for Greenville Independent School District and was a member of Mineral Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, Dennis G. Moser and wife Janie L. of Dallas; her sister, Lillie Odell Ely and husband Jewell of Greenville; two grandchildren, Kim D. Schlesinger and Rachel E. Huett.
Her husband preceded her in death on June 25, 1992.
Ronny Hobbs, D.D. Hobbs, John Schultz, Richard Tharp, Rusty Warren, and Landon Huett are pallbearers.

‘Pat’ Ponder
ROYSE CITY — Patricia “Pat” Ponder, 72, of Nevada, died March 2, 2008.
She was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Royse City to Harvey Truitt and Addele (Winters) Bass. Pat was a member of First United Methodist Church of Nevada.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bryson Ponder of Nevada; daughters Denise Boyd and husband Lanny of Garland and Dianne Strickland and husband Chris of Nevada; two sons, Craig Ponder of Nevada and Keith Ponder of Wylie; grandchildren Landon and Julie Boyd, Amber and Hope Strickland and Bryson Ponder.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Royse City Chapel with Rev. Clint Bratcher officiating. Interment follows in Nevada Cemetery.

Bradley Sheehan
Bradley Jason Sheehan, four months, of Greenville died March 1, 2008. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lynch Funeral Service chapel. Burial is in Lynch Memorial Park.

He was born Nov. 15, 2007, in Greenville, son of Bradley Sheehan and Nicole Diane Beringer; they survive.
Other survivors include grandparents Fred and Sandy Beringer of Greenville and Brad and Kerry Sheehan of Greenville, Teresa McLaughlin and Richard Payne, Anne McLaughlin and Pam and Brian Payne, all of England.
He was preceded in death by great-grandfathers James Sheehan and Doug Moss and an uncle, Patrick Sheehan.

Viola Walters
GRANBURY -- Viola M. Walters, 94, died March 2, 2008, in Glen Rose. Funeral services are at 12:30 p.m. today at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment follows in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.
Mrs. Walters was born May 7, 1913, in Wicks, Ark., to Alvin Willie and Dora Belle Rush Littleton.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Oklahoma and Kingston Church of Christ in Greenville. She worked for a number of years for Volk Brothers and Neiman-Marcus in downtown Dallas. She had lived in Greenville for a number of years before moving to Glen Rose.
Mrs. Walters was an avid fisherman and gardener and loved cats.
Survivors are daughters Mary Frances Queen and husband Stan and Betty June Baker; grandchildren and spouses Debra and Scott Bixel, Kathy and Alan Berry, Perry and Melissa Hix, Pam and Jeffrey Wheatley and Houston Baker Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury is in charge of arrangements.
