Lone Oak City Council and Lone Oak Independent School District candidates will be on hand to meet with citizens Friday evening.
The meet-and-greet event, sponsored by the Lone Oak Merchant’s Group, was originally scheduled for May 2, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The event will be held at the pavilion in the town square, and is slated to begin at 6 p.m. A moderated question-and-answer forum will not be held.
David Sumrall and Michael Barrow are seeking the Place 1 seat on the city council. Neil Dent, Misty Lutz and Kandi Burchett are seeking the Place 2 seat. Mona Collins and Shane Stovall are competing for the Place 3 seat. Gordon Galloway is the only candidate for Place 5.
Four people are seeking two seats on the Lone Oak ISD Board of Trustees. Incumbents Terry Gipson and Wayne Burton are seeking re-election, while challengers are Jeremy McClanahan and Paul Kelley.
According to organizer Dorothy Miller, the event will last as long as people wish to speak with the candidates. Hot dogs and light refreshments will be served.
Those seeking more information can contact Miller at 903-662-5109 or 903-662-5584.
