Voters across Hunt County can begin making some big decisions Monday, as they choose the individuals who will be sitting on their city councils, their school boards and on the boards of their utility districts.
Early voting for the May 9 elections is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays starting Monday and continuing through May 5 at the Hunt County Voter Administration Office, 2217 Washington Street in Greenville. Although there will be no mobile early voting this time around, the office will be open extended hours, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., both Tuesday and Thursday of this week.

Cities
There is only one election in Greenville, a single contest for the Greenville City Council between incumbent Place 6 Council member Betty Franklin and challenger Mike Smith.
In Caddo Mills, Amy Baker, Dwayne Pattison and Shirley Thomason are competing for the mayors seat; while Brook Howard, Marsha Nelson, Vic Summers and Joel Richardson are vying for two, two-year full terms on the city council.
In Campbell, five people are seeking to fill two, two-year full terms on the city council; Herb King, Ruth Williams, Ronnie King, Jack Henderson and Nick Jordan.
Three people are vying to be the next Mayor of Celeste: Pat Jones, Mike Stout and Erin L. Jordan. Two people have filed seeking two open positions on the City Council: Larry Godwin and Fred C. Reynolds.
In Commerce, Tommy Hall and Tony Henry are battling to see who will receive a two-year term in Place 1 on the city council, while David Hitt and Richard Hill are competing for the two-year term in Place 3.
In Lone Oak, David Sumrall and Michael Barrow are seeking Place 1 seat on the city council. The Place 2 council seat features Neil Dent and Misty Lutz as announced candidates, with a write-in candidate also on the ballot. Mona Collins and Shane Stovall are seeking the Place 3 seat, while Gordon Galloway is the only candidate for Place 5.
In Quinlan, Sharon Royal is unopposed in running for mayor and Carole Petty is unopposed in seeking the Place 2 council position. There is a contest in Place 4 between Clellan Foster and Craig Waters.
School districts
In Caddo Mills, three people are seeking two seats on the board of trustees: Keith Hopkins, Lee Swafford and Jeremy Coddington.
In Campbell, two seats on the school district board attracted three candidates: Charley Martin, Dowanna Jaco and Chad Stephenson.
Ten people are in the running for three seats on the Celeste ISD board: Carol McCaslin, Brad White, Brian Thompson, Dale Gibson, Jeffrey Babers, Mike Wilson, Marty Burke, Dob Gilliam, Jeff Frasier and Shawn Stubblefield.
Two seats are open on the Commerce Independent School District board of trustees. Elva A. Resendez, Randy Starks and Emma J. Martin are competing for a full term in Place 6 on the board, while Medley Wilson and Hector Arce are seeking a full term in Place 7.
Four people are seeking two seats on the Lone Oak ISD board: Jeremy McClanahan, Terry Gipson, Wayne Burton and Paul Kelley.
Four places on the Quinlan Independent School District board will be decided May 9. Kevin Fritch and Paula Reeves are vying for the Place 1 seat, Sheri Bostick and Michelle Harrison are running in Place 2, Dale Sikorsky and Kenny Stone are battling for the Place 3 seat, while Todd Darter and J.R. Watson are seeking the Place 4 seat.
Five people are running for two seats on the Wolfe City ISD board: Carrie Northcutt, Charles Clay Henslee, Sandra Wensel Murphey, Jack Hale and Maxine Haywood.
Utility districts
Five candidates are seeking four seats up open on the Caddo Basin Special Utility District board: Don Hall, Hurley Jenkins, Nolan Elwood Jones, Jerry Leinart and James C. Patterson.
Four candidates are in the running for two spots on the Combined Consumers Special Utility District: Joseph H. Thrush, Kenneth D. Searcey, W. Ward Guffey and Don Madden.
Five people have signed on to compete for three positions on the board of the Hickory Creek Special Utility District: Michael Hogge, Greg Shives, Butch McKay, Jerry Formby and W. L. Buster OPry.
