All three incumbent members of the Greenville City Council have filed and are seeking new terms in the May 9 municipal election.
Place 6 Council member Betty Franklin filed Tuesday, the same day as the Council voted to formally call for the election, which will decide who gets to sit in the Mayor’s seat and in Places 5 and 6 on the Council.
Filing began Monday and will continue weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through March 9 at the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street. Early voting is scheduled between April 27 and May 5.
Mayor Tom Oliver is completing his first full term, while Franklin and Place 5 Council member Bryan Herrin are completing unexpired terms. All three have now filed and as of Wednesday evening were the only candidates to have either filed or announced they were running.
