Several Hunt County officials started 2013 by also starting new terms in office.
A swearing-in ceremony was conducted Tuesday morning in the courtroom of 196th District Court Judge Steve Tittle, who began by swearing in 354th Judicial District Court Judge Richard A. “Rick” Beacom.
The two judges then alternated in delivering the oath of office to the remaining officials, with one exception.
County Court at Law No. 1 Judge Andrew Bench had the honor of swearing in his cousin, Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Place 1 Wayne Money.
Others taking the oath of office Tuesday included Hunt County District Attorney Noble D. Walker Jr., Hunt County Court at Law No. 2 Judge F. Duncan Thomas, Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks, County Tax Assessor-Collector Randy L. Wineinger, County Commissioner Precinct No. 1 Eric Evans, County Commissioner Precinct No. 3 Phillip A. Martin, Constable Precinct No. 1 Terry Jones, Constable Precinct No. 2 Wayne “Doc” Pierce, Constable Precinct No. 3 Don Morrison and Constable Precinct No. 4 Kent Layton.
