Newspaper to honor local ‘Unsung Heroes’

GREENVILLE — Some deserving individuals will receive some overdue recognition tonight, and one person will be accorded a special honor from the Herald-Banner.

The reception will start at  5:30 p.m. and will be held at the Landmark, located at 2920 Lee Street in downtown Greenville, during which the Herald-Banner will announce the 2013 Person of Distinction and award our Unsung Heroes.

The public is invited to attend.

This is the third annual event where the Unsung Heroes are chosen by the newspaper staff after taking nominations from the public, and the Person of Distinction is selected solely by the newspaper staff.

The award winners will be featured in a special edition of the Herald-Banner, called “Heralding the Future,” that will be published March 30.
