Assault, attempted robbery caught on video

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect caught on video attacking a female victim outside of a local supermarket Tuesday night.

The police department posted a copy of the video on its Facebook page Thursday afternoon. The video is also posted on the Herald-Banner’s Facebook page at

According to information from the police department, the incident took place at approximately 9:49 p.m. Tuesday.

A black male, about five-foot-seven to five-foot-eight with a slender build, wearing a black zip up hoodie, black pants, and a red bandana around his face, and possibly wearing red shorts underneath the pants, attempted to rob a female victim in the parking lot of Migalito’s Supermercado at 2601 King Street.

The victim resisted and was assaulted by the suspect. The video shows the victim being dragged along the parking lot of the store as multiple cars passed by the business. The suspect then ran south on King Street.
