UPDATED: Police department, school district issue statements concerning missing Greenville teenager

GREENVILLE — Greenville Police Department and Greenville Independent School District officials are investigating the circumstances behind a missing local teenager.

Alicia Chanta Moore, a 16 year old African American female and student at Greenville High School was last seen getting off of a school bus Friday afternoon, at the corner of Bourland and Walnut Streets.

Alicia was wearing a white shirt with a black undershirt, a green jacket, pink headband and black glasses. Alicia was carrying a black backpack. Alicia was also wearing earrings and a necklace.

Alicia is 5’1” tall and weighs 97 pounds, with medium length black hair, black eyes, and has braces. Anyone with any information regarding Alicia Moore is urged to contact the Greenville Police department at 903-457-2900.

The Greenville ISD was notified at 11:23 a.m. Saturday that Moore did not return home Friday. The Greenville High School principal was reported to have checked Moore’s schedule and interviewing teachers. The principal then reviewed campus security cameras. Footage showed the student exiting school safely and entering a Greenville ISD bus.

The district’s Transportation Department reviewed footage from the cameras on the bus which confirmed the student exiting the bus safely in the neighborhood near the student’s home at 3:25 p.m. Friday. The district’s Technology Department attempted to trace her iPad, however the device had been completely reset.
