Catfish tournament hits waters of Lake Tawakoni

QUINLAN — The Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail will begin at 6:30 a.m. March 2 on Lake Tawakoni and run until 3 p.m. The tournament weigh-in will be held at West Tawakoni City Park. All anglers must be in the weigh-in line by 4 p.m. There is a five fish limit per team. Only live fish will be weighed in and all fish will be released after the tournament. A complete list of rules can be found on Cabela’s website kingkatusa.com.

Registration for the event will be held today at 7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce in Quinlan, located at 100 West Highway 276.  Anglers must be members of the King Kat Association to fish in the event. A one year membership costs $25.

Local catfish anglers will compete for cash, prizes and a chance to advance to the Cabela’s King Kat Classic in Cambden, Tenn.
