Suspect in drive-by shooting arrested

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Police Department has arrested a suspect who is believed to have been involved in a drive-by shooting in the city earlier this week.

The incident allegedly occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The police department received a call that at least one shot was fired from a moving vehicle in the 2600 block of Polk Street. A white female was reported to be the driver of the eastbound vehicle, while a black male passenger said to have fired the handgun. No one was injured.

The police department announced Thursday afternoon that the male suspect in the deadly conduct incident was in custody at the Hunt County Jail on unrelated charges, after being arrested Wednesday night for theft.

No additional details were immediately released.
