Nice night for a "Floorshow:

GREENVILLE — Continuing a tradition established more than 80 years ago, Greenville High School’s Lion Pride Band and Flaming Flashes are presenting the annual Band and Flash Floorshow, starting tonight.

”Simply Floorshow” is the theme for the 2013 Floorshow, with shows starting at 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday at the Greenville High School gymnasium.

Advance tickets are $5 and are available from members of the Lion Pride Band or Flaming Flashes, or at the front office of the high school. Tickets will be $7 at the door. Children ages 2 and above require a ticket for admission.

The tradition of the Floorshow evolved soon after the formation of the two groups. The Flaming Flashes, which were organized by Miss Gussie Nell Davis in 1928, and the Greenville High School Band, which was organized by Ed Bernard in 1931.
