A record cold night tonight

GREENVILLE — The temperature has been dropping all day, and still has a way to go overnight.

A freeze is not expected tonight, but the forecast low will be a record for the date for many locations in North Texas, according to the National Weather Service. Gusty north winds will make it feel even colder.

Tonight's forecast is calling for a 30 percent chance of rain before 1 a.m. Friday and a low around 37, with winds out of the north northwest gusting as high as 35 mph.

A high near 57 is expected Friday, with a north northwest wind at 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
