A current member of the Greenville Independent School District board of trustees, filling an unexpired term in place of her husband, has filed seeking election to a full term in the post.
Trudy Wineinger filed Monday for the Place 4 seat, which will be decided along with Places 1 and 6 in the May 11 election.
Wineinger was appointed earlier this year to fill the Place 4 seat, which was left vacant after her husband Randy was elected in November to the office Hunt County Tax Assessor-Collector.
Current board president Anne Haynes serves in Place 1, while Slack Brown serves in Place 2. Both have filed seeking reelection.
Filing for the election continues through March 1. Candidate packets are available in the Director of Community Services’ Office at 4004 Moulton Street, Room 102.
April 11 is the last day to register to vote for the election, with early voting scheduled between April 29 and May 7.
