One person was killed and another hospitalized in a Friday morning accident in southern Hunt County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported the two vehicle crash occurred at around 7 a.m. on State Highway 276 just outside of Quinlan.
Jennifer Martin, 47, of Quinlan, was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound on the highway when the vehicle was reported to have slid onto the shoulder of the road.
Martin was said to have overcorrected, which caused the Cobalt to enter a side skid and enter the westbound lane and a Toyota Tacoma hit the passenger side door of Martin’s vehicle.
Martin, the only occupant of the Cobalt, was killed.
The driver of the Tacoma was transported to a Rockwall hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A cause of the crash was still under investigation as of Friday afternoon.
