Saying thanks to police

GREENVILLE — The board of the local electric utility system intends to take time tonight to thank officers with the Greenville Police Department for catching suspects who allegedly broke into the company’s headquarters last month.

The GEUS Board of Trustees is scheduled to present a proclamation in recognition of the officers during its regular session,  starting at 6 p.m. in the GEUS Operations Center, 6000 Joe Ramsey Boulevard in Greenville.

According to the proclamation, the police department was called early on the morning of May 26 for a report of two suspects, who were on the grounds of the operations center in an effort to steal property. The officers responded quickly, arrested the suspects and recovered all of the property.

The proclamation recognizes and thanks Sgt. Adam Phillips, Cpl. Aaron Huddleston; and Officers Jack Maloy, Chris Rosamond and Brandon West for their efforts.
