Time to bash on the backstreets

GREENVILLE — The backstreet of downtown Greenville will be the focus of the fun this weekend.

The annual Backstreet Bash is scheduled Saturday and Sunday, centered on Jordan Street, between Stonewall and Oak Streets, and the side streets around the area. This year’s event is expected to feature lots of vendors, crafts, food, demonstrations, kids activities, live music and more.

The BARKsection will feature pet-friendly activities including weenie dog races, a pet talent show, a petting zoo, pony rides,  pets available for adoption, a dog house building contest, police dog demonstrations from Greenville’s K9 police unit and more.

The Third Annual “Hot Diggity Dog Jog”, sponsored by Turtle Creek Veterinary Medical Center to benefit pet cancer awareness, will include a 5K as well as a 1 mile walk.

Landon Winery is hosting a wine tasting event, while CrossFit Downtown Greenville and CrossFit Royse City are presenting the Second Annual "Battle of the Titans" competition both Saturday and Sunday.

Live music will be featured both days, with Saturday night’s main event featuring Johnny Cooper followed by the Damn Quails on the Bud Light Stage.
