Homes being evacuated due to gas line rupture

GREENVILLE — Residents of one south Greenville neighborhood are being evacuated this afternoon, following a gas line rupture.

The Greenville Police Department is reporting work crews hit a natural gas line in the 700 block of Colony Drive, between Jack Finney Boulevard and Tracy Street, shortly before noon today.

The Greenville Fire Department is en route to evacuate the area south and west of the residence. Portions of Colony Drive will be closed as a precaution as well. Atmos is also en route to the location.
