"Spirit of Giving" meetings scheduled

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Lions Club will be hosting their annual “Spirit of Giving” event, a community Christmas Party, at 10 a.m. on Dec. 14.

The Lions Club will be holding two meetings for individuals who want to become involved or find out more about the event. Both meetings will be at Authentic Life Fellowship, located at 1914 Joe Ramsey Blvd. E., in Greenville.

The meetings are scheduled for Saturday and Dec. 7 at 9 a.m.

The Spirit of Giving is held at the Farmer’s Market in downtown Greenville. Organizations and individuals set up stations that give away household items such as toys, pillows, coats, shoes, blankets, cookies and concessions. The event is designed to challenge individuals to give something up for the benefit of another.

Registration for the event will begin on Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m. Event organizers are asking individuals to bring a food item for the Salvation Army’s food pantry.
