The Greenville City Council Tuesday formally called for the May municipal election, which will include two seats on the council.
Another candidate filed Wednesday for one of the spots which will be on the May 10 ballot.
As has been the case for the past few years, the city will contract with the Hunt County Elections Administrator Office to conduct the election, at a cost of $2,135.50.
The election will be to decide Places 3 and 4 on the council.
Incumbent Place 3 Council member Jeff Dailey has filed for re-election.
Ramona B. Tiscareno filed Wednesday for the Place 4 seat. Holly Gotcher has also filed for the position. Mayor Pro-Tem Velma Del Bosque-Hobdy serves in Place 4 and is eligible to seek re-election to the council.
Filing continues between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. today and Friday at the City of Greenville Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street.
A runoff election, if necessary, would take place on June 28.
April 10 is the final day to register to vote for the election.
Early voting is scheduled between April 28 and May 6.
