The Greenville City Council intends to conduct closed door discussions Tuesday concerning some potential economic development projects.
The discussions might involve the proposed Splash Kingdom water park, which is one of the prospects listed in the items included under the executive session scheduled during Tuesday’s regular session, starting at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street. A work session is also set for 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Splash Kingdom is wanting to build a water park development in Greenville, as part of the Greenville Towne Center Development.

The Council is also scheduled to discuss 17 other code-named projects under the same section, including Rounder, Retread, Red Pepper, Tail Fin, Downtown-FourStar, Race, Fuel, Popsicle, Focus, Cotton, Westside, Booth, Blackwing, Peary, Green, Spark JC and Lion.
The Council is also scheduled to discuss Projects Splash, Rounder, Retread, Red Pepper, Tail Fin, Downtown-FourStar, Race, Fuel, Popsicle, Focus, Cotton, Westside, Booth, Blackwing, Peary, Green, Spark JC, Lion, and EDC Land under Section 551.072 of the Local Government Code, which allows for a “discussion with respect to the purchase, lease, or value of real property, when such discussion would have a detrimental effect on negotiating position of the governmental body.”
Should the Council decide to take any action on any of the items discussed Tuesday in executive session, it would return to the regular meeting in order to do so.
