A special session of the Hunt County Commissioners Court will take place Thursday to take action on the canvassing on the Nov. 6, election results.
“We will give the court the numbers from the election and the court will finalize it,” Mina Cook, elections administrator for Hunt County, said.
Cook said the final day for mail-in ballots was pushed to Tuesday, Nov. 13, due to Veterans Day falling on a Monday.
“We had to go through provisional ballots the night of the election,” she said. “And we are waiting on next Tuesday for any ballots that were mailed in from soldiers.”
As of Friday afternoon in Hunt County races, Republican Eric Evans won the race for Hunt County Commissioner Precinct 1 against Democrat Jerry Minter, securing 68 percent of the vote. Terry Jones, Republican incumbent Constable for Precinct 1, held off Democrat Glenn Stone, collecting 73 percent of the vote.
