Police department investigating death at local hotel

GREENVILLE — The Greenville Police Department has issued a statement concerning an ongoing investigation involving a Wednesday night death at a local hotel:

On May 8, 2013, at approximately 7:35 p.m. the Greenville Police Department received a call of an unresponsive white male in a guest room at the Days Inn.  Also responding were the Greenville Fire Department and American Medical Response.

 

The victim, who was deceased, was staying with another man at the motel who reported his condition and summoned assistance.  The reporting party indicated that the man had been to the local emergency room seeking treatment for an ailment on more than one occasion.

 

Due to this unattended death Greenville Police Department officers conducted an investigation at the scene.  Justice of the Peace Wayne Money responded and ordered an autopsy.

 

No additional information is being released at this time pending confirmation of notification of next of kin.
