Follies set for "sublime" debut tonight

GREENVILLE — Area residents will be on stage tonight in a unique musical and comedy revue.

Follies 2013, “Shaken with a Twist of Sublime” is scheduled tonight and Saturday, starting at 8 p.m. at Greenville Municipal Auditorium.

Proceeds from this year’s production will go to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Texas, helping to fund the construction of an outdoor learning center at the Reecy Davis Recreation Center, 4320 Lee Street in Greenville.

Tickets are $12 per person for orchestra seating, or $15 at the door; $8 for balcony seats, or $10 at the door; with $40 Angel tickets also available, which include VIP reserved seats and a pre-show party at the Landmark on Lee Street.

General Admission tickets are available at the Calico Cat, Landon Winery, Adkisson Florist, Salazar Eyecare, American National Bank and Alliance Bank, or from Follies cast and crew members and Boys and Girls Club board members.

The Follies is a fundraiser for community projects which presents musical numbers and comedy sketches featuring a cast made entirely of local residents. The Follies began in 1987 and is now conducted every two years. There have been 16 shows which have raised more than $600,000 for local non-profit organizations.
