Streets remain closed due to flooding

GREENVILLE — Portions of several streets in Greenville remain closed this morning, as a result of more than five inches of rain which fell Thursday. The north ends of Wesley and Stonewall Streets, and the east end of Sockwell Boulevard, as well all three road's intersections with Dalton and Wright streets, remained under water as of 11 a.m. today

A flood warning remains in effect along portions of the Sabine River in Greenville and near Quinlan. The flood waters are expected to recede by late this afternoon.

Ona positive note, the fishing in the flood waters along the east end of Lee Street/Spur 302, near the intersection of FM 499/Forester Street, is said to be great, with several people catching big strings of channel catfish using chicken gizzards for bait.
