County expected to file suit against rural property owner

GREENVILLE — The Hunt County Commissioners Court approved entering into contract with Scott, Money & Ray, PLLC, to file a civil suit against a property near the community of Yowell in Hunt County.

The civil suit is going to pursue an injunction to enforce Texas anti-dumping rules.

David Alexander, assistant director for Homeland Security of Hunt County, said the yard is a hazard and needs to be cleaned up.

“There is a quite a bit of cars and other debris in the yard,” he said. “An injunctive approach might be the best way in this case.”

According to Richard Hill, director of Homeland Securiy for Hunt County, filing a civil suit is effective.

“This is a real good way to make people clean up,” he said.

Hill said the agency is trying to preserve the land value in Hunt County.

“We’re here to improve the property values and environmental quality in Hunt County,” he said.

The civil suit is expected to be filed against the property owner on Friday.
