Time to switch seasons again

GREENVILLE — The weather in Greenville Friday was wonderful, with a high in the 70s and with winds gusting out of the south.

Which, based on the weather pattern which has dominated North Texas since the start of the year, means it is time to shift back to winter again.

The National Weather Service was calling for a slight chance of some wintry conditions in Hunt County by the end of the weekend. And, although there was no expectation of any accumulation of snow or ice in the area, the temperatures are going to drop significantly beginning by this afternoon.

Friday saw an unseasonably warm 73 degrees for a high at Majors Field Municipal Airport in Greenville.

There is a slight chance of rain under cloudy skies today and a high near 66. The winds will start from the south/southwest, but will shift to out of the north and gust as high as 20 mph.

The low is expected to dip to around 37 degrees tonight, with winds continuing to gust out of the north as high as 25 mph.

Rain is likely Sunday afternoon, with a high near 43 and with more north winds. There is a slight chance of snow late Sunday night, as the temperature dips to around 30 degrees.

As of Friday evening, the forecast was calling for a better chance of snow and ice accumulations to the north and west of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
