Puttin' On The Ritz to support local education

GREENVILLE — Supporters of local education or anyone wanting a chance to bid on unique merchandise will be “Puttin’ on the Ritz” Saturday, during the Annual Greenville Chamber of Commerce Auction for Teacher Grants.

The auction is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center in Greenville. Those attending will be able to enjoy a sit-down dinner with celebrity waiters and will have a chance to bid on dozens of items.

Some of the items which will be offered include ballon rides, scrapbooking, wine tastings, movie and theme park tickets, barbecue brisket, cheesecake, autographed sports memorabilia, coin sets and much more.

Chamber representatives note the auction will feature a wide assortment of western-themed treasures up for bid.

Donations are still being accepted for the auction. A portion of the proceeds raised by the auction goes to provide grants to assist Greenville teachers.
