More Independence Day events in area Saturday

GREENVILLE — The upcoming weekend offers even more chances to celebrate the Independence Day holiday in Hunt County:

— The City of Lone Oak has scheduled an Independence Day Parade, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. Entries are asked to begin lining up around 9 a.m., with vehicles setting up behind the school and walkers at Boyer Farm and Feed.

— The Commerce Fourth of July Celebration is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Park. Visitors are asked to bring a canned food item to enter the event. The day is expected to include kid’s activities, bounce houses, pony rides, the Red vs. Blue softball game and a performance by the Li-Sher Dance Studio. Visitors can enter to win a two-night stay in a jacuzzi sweet in the Magnuson Hotel in Commerce. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.
