Forgery indictments issued by grand jury

GREENVILLE — The latest edition of the Hunt County grand jury issued multiple indictments last week involving the alleged passing of forged checks.

— Gary Dub Lynch, 40, of Greenville, received one indictment for forgery by passing. Lynch was alleged in the indictment to have written four forged checks from a local company, totaling $1,857.32, in May 2011.

— Melissa Dawn Thacker, 34, of Blue Ridge, received one indictment for forgery by passing. The indictment alleged Thacker tried to pass two forged checks, totaling $2,241.55, at a Greenville automobile dealership in April of this year.

— Erica Mease Mays, 31, Dallas, received one indictment for forgery by passing. Mays was alleged in the indictment to have attempted to pass a forged check totaling $1,906.11 in February 2011.

Arraignment dates on the indictments have not yet been scheduled.

The charges were handed up Friday by the Hunt County grand jury, for consideration by the 354th District Court.

The grand jury, which was seated earlier this month, began its six-month term running through December.
