Good Friday closings announced

— Most government offices will be taking a three-day weekend in observance of the Good Friday holiday, while multiple  Easter egg hunts are scheduled this coming weekend.

Most State of Texas and all Hunt County and City of Greenville offices, including the W. Walworth Harrison Public Library, will be closed Friday.

The offices of the Senior Center Resources and Public Transit (formerly Hunt County Committee on Aging/The Connection) will also be closed Friday.

The U.S. Postal Service and banks will be open, as Good Friday is not considered a federal holiday.

The Herald-Banner business office will also be open regular hours Friday.

There are several Easter egg hunts planned for Saturday and Sunday.

— The annual Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the City of Greenville, is scheduled Saturday morning on the softball fields inside the Greenville SportsPark at the corner of Sayle Street and Kari Lane/Leo Hackney Boulevard. There will be approximately 20,000 Easter eggs, with hunts for two age groups, ages 0-3 at 10 a.m. and ages 4-11 at 10:15 a.m.

— An egg hunt is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Easter Sunday at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3507 FM 499.

— The First United Methodist Church in Commerce has an Easter egg hunt set for 9:45 a.m. Easter Sunday.
