GREENVILLE — A local man has been charged with intoxication assault in connection with a two vehicle crash earlier this month in which one man was injured.

Adam Truett Woodruff, 20, of Greenville, remained in custody at the Hunt County Jail Monday in lieu of $50,000 bond. Woodruff had an attorney appointed to represent him during a hearing Friday in the 196th District Court. No additional hearings were immediately scheduled.

According to a complaint filed by the Greenville Police Department, officers were dispatched on the evening of April 7 to a report of a two vehicle major crash in the 7900 block of Jack Finney Boulevard.

Woodruff was reported to have been driving a while Ford pickup which struck another vehicle which was traveling southbound along the roadway. The driver of the second vehicle was injured and Woodruff was arrested at the scene after he was reportedly disoriented and had a strong odor of alcohol, among other factors.

The charge is a third degree felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from two to 10 years in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.
