Filing continues today for the May 11 Greenville City Council and Greenville Independent School District board elections.
As of Friday, three people had filed for the two seats to decided on the Council, and one person had filed for the one of the three seats open on the school district board.
Filing for both elections continues through March 1.
Places 1 and 2 on the Council will be decided. Dan Perkins currently serves in Place 1 and Dr. Joe Perks serves in Place 2.
Perkins and Tyson Cox have filed for the Place 1 seat, while James Evans has filed for the Place 2 post.
Candidate packets are available at the Municipal Building, 2821 Washington Street.
Places 1 and 6 and an unexpired term in Place 4 will be decided in the Greenville ISD board election.
Current board president Anne Haynes serves in Place 1, while Slack Brown serves in Place 2.
Brown filed seeking re-election Friday.
Trudy Wineinger was recently appointed to fill the Place 4 seat, which was left vacant after her husband Randy was elected in November to the office Hunt County Tax Assessor-Collector. Randy Wineinger took office on January 1.
Candidate packets are available in the Director of Community Services’ Office at 4004 Moulton Street, Room 102.
April 11 is the last day to register to vote for the election, with early voting scheduled April 29-May 7.
