National Weather Service damage survey teams to be in area today

GREENVILLE — National Weather Service damage assessment teams will be in Hunt County later today, to survey the destruction from Thursday's storms:

...PRELIMINARY PLANS FOR STORM DAMAGE SURVEYS...

TWO TEAMS OF NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS WILL BE DISPATCHED TO PERFORM DAMAGE SURVEYS TODAY. SIGNIFICANT SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRED DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING OF THURSDAY APRIL 3. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH
RECEIVED NUMEROUS REPORTS OF VERY LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS...AND POSSIBLE TORNADOES.

THE FIRST TEAM WILL GO TO EASTERN COLLIN COUNTY AND SURVEY DAMAGE IN THE PRINCETON AND FARMERSVILLE AREAS. THAT TEAM THEN PLANS TO
MOVE EAST INTO HUNT COUNTY AND SURVEY AREAS NEAR MERIT AND NORTH OF GREENVILLE.

THE SECOND TEAM WILL BE DISPATCHED TO DENTON COUNTY LATER THIS MORNING. THE INITIAL FOCUS IN DENTON COUNTY WILL BE THE AREAS IN
AND AROUND THE CITY OF DENTON.

ADDITIONAL SURVEYS ARE TENTATIVELY PLANNED FOR HOPKINS COUNTY NORTH OF THE SULPHUR SPRINGS AREA. HOWEVER...IT MAY BE SATURDAY
