GREENVILLE — A jury in the 354th District Court is currently deliberating guilt or innocence in the trial of Micah Crofford Brown, charged with capital murder in the July 20 2011 shooting death of Stella Michelle "Doc" Ray, his ex-wife.

The panel received the case at approximately 12:15 p.m. and as of 2:30 p.m. was still considering whether to acquit Brown; or convict Brown of capital murder, which would carry the death sentence or life in prison without parole, or a first degree murder charge, which could carry a maximum sentence of life in prison with the potential for parole after 30 years.

Should the jury find Brown guilty, it would return to consider punishment Tuesday morning.
