City of Greenville PIO leaving position at end of month

GREENVILLE — Community Relations Manager and Public Information Officer (PIO) Lori Philyaw will be leaving her position with the City of Greenville effective November 30, 2012.

Philyaw, who has been with the City of Greenville since 1991, has accepted the position of Director of Operations, Executive Search, for Strategic Government Resources (SGR) headquartered in Keller, Texas. Philyaw will also lead SGR’s community relations and public information contract services for Texas cities.

Philyaw said, “Greenville is my hometown and it has been a wonderful experience to be able to work in local government along with the City Council and City Staff as we serve the citizens of this great community.”

City Manager Steven Alexander said, “Lori has been a great person to work with.  Her professionalism and dedication are second to none. Lori has been a tremendous asset to Greenville and I am grateful for the time that she has committed to the City.”

According to Alexander, “Lori’s new position with SGR has allowed for the City of Greenville to contract with the firm to assist us with our PIO, website, media and public relations needs. SGR’s team of public relations professionals will provide these services to Greenville resulting in a significant cost savings to the City.”

Alexander added, “I am pleased that we will be able to continue to work with Lori and benefit from her experience and expertise through our association with SGR.”
