Ivy to be honored on the gridiron

GREENVILLE — Funeral services are scheduled today for Brandon Ivy of Caddo Mills, while two gridiron contests are scheduled this weekend in honor of the 8-year-old football player who was killed in a Monday evening traffic accident.

Ivy’s funeral is set for 3 p.m. at Faith Bible Church in Caddo Mills with Pastor Randall Bost officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.

Lynch Funeral Home of Caddo Mills is in charge of arrangements.

Ivy played football for the Caddo Mills Youth Sports Association (CMYSA), which announced the Caddo Mills Foxes Mustang and Colt division Superbowl games will be played Saturday, at the Community High School Football Field on Fm 1138 North in Nevada.

The Mustangs are scheduled to kick off at noon with the Colts set to start at 2:30 p.m. Members of both teams had played with Ivy, who was expected to play Saturday as a member of the Colts.
