Herald-Banner, GOP forum tonight

GREENVILLE — In a little more than a week, local voters will begin casting ballots for the candidates they support in several key races, as they seek nominations from their respective parties during the March 4 primary elections.

The Herald-Banner, in cooperation with the Hunt County GOP Club, is sponsoring a political forum starting at 6 p.m. tonight at the Landmark on Lee Street, 2920 Lee Street in Greenville.

Herald-Banner editor Caleb Slinkard will moderate the forum, which is expected to include the candidates for U.S. House of Representatives, which on the Republican side includes the incumbent, Ralph Hall, as well as Lou Gigliotti, John Stacy, Brent Lawson and John Ratcliffe.

The forum is also inviting the Republican candidates for State Senate District 2, which includes the incumbent, Bob Deuell, along with Mark Thompson and Bob Hall.

The forum will also include the GOP candidates in the race for 196th District Court, the incumbent Steve Tittle and the challenger Andrew Bench.

Early voting is scheduled Feb. 18-28.
