Herald-Banner Staff

Cliff Copeland has been named the new Finance Director for the City of Greenville, according to City Manager Steven Alexander.

Copeland has been with the City of Greenville since May 2008, and has served as Assistant Finance Director for the City since April.

“Cliff has proven his ability to manage and lead the finance department and has the expertise we were looking for in a finance director,” Alexander said. “Cliff has the ability to direct the City in the financial challenges ahead and to insure the fiscal integrity of our organization”.

A graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce, Copeland has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Prior to coming to the City of Greenville, he owned C&C Business Solutions and served as the Executive Director of the Greenville/Hunt County YMCA. Copeland also served in the capacities of manager and controller for Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club and was Vice President and General Manager of Walker-McDonald Manufacturing Company.

As Finance Director, Copeland will oversee the Finance Department, Information Technology, Municipal Court, Central Services and Fleet Maintenance.

“I am excited to be able to serve the citizens of Greenville in this new position,” Copeland said. “Financial integrity and excellent customer service is a high priority for our organization and I look forward to the opportunities we have in providing high quality service to the community.”

Copeland and his wife Carolyn have three children and four grandchildren and make their home in Hunt County.
