GREENVILLE —
Weather permitting, 15 local neighborhoods plan to host activities in connection with Tuesday’s National Night Out.
Some locations have also scheduled alternative sites, in the event there is rain. Other spots will determine whether to proceed depending on the conditions Tuesday evening.
County Attorney Joel Littlefield is sponsoring the Greenville National Night Out, which is promoted each year by the National Association of Town Watch to encourage people in neighborhoods across the country to come together and get to know each other, while meeting with law enforcement authorities and learning ways how to prevent crime, drug abuse and violence in their communities.
Local firefighters, police officers and City Council members also plan to make the rounds to the various activities underway Tuesday.
