By BRAD KELLAR

GREENVILLE Who knew the City of Greenville had that much stuff it wanted to get rid of?

For the third time this year, the city is placing items of merchandise up for bid in an online auction.

The latest auction is scheduled to officially begin next Monday morning, Oct. 6 and continue through 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at www.auctioneerexpress.com.

A total of 39 items are up for bid this time around, including 15 pickup trucks or vans, five sedans and an assortment of trailers and equipment. Also for sale is a 16-foot pontoon boat with engine.

Those wanting to inspect the items, by appointment only, can call Chris McAllister at 903-457-3174 or 903-461-8711.

The City of Greenville has had success this year in raising money through the online auction process.

Bidding in August on surplus City of Greenville vehicles and equipment racked up more than $28,000 in sales, while more than $135,000 in bids were submitted during an April Internet auction.
