Local motorists may be seeing more Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) work crews for the next two weeks or so, as more than a dozen Hunt County highways will be getting new seal coats.
TxDOT maintenance crews are scheduled to perform seal coat operations starting Monday.
The highways included under the project include: Farm-To-Market Road 36 from FM 1562 to FM 2194 (6.4 miles); FM 513 from U.S. Highway 69 69 to the Interstate 30 south frontage road (9.8 miles); FM 751 from State Highway 276 to the Van Zandt County line (6.2 miles); FM 1562 from Celeste to the Collin County line (6.1 miles); FM 1563 from FM 2655 to Wolfe City (10.1 miles); FM 1565 from the Interstate 30 south frontage road to State Highway 276 (5.2 miles); FM 1567 from the Hopkins County line to U.S. Highway 69 (6.0 miles); FM 1568 from FM 499 to State Highway 24 (6.6 miles); FM 2101 from FM 1564 to State Highway 34 (9.3 miles); FM 2655 from FM 512 to State Highway 11 (3.9 miles); FM 3211 from State Highway 66 to FM 36 (5.2 miles); State Highway 11 from Wolfe City to Commerce (14.4 miles); and State Highway 50 from the Fannin County line to State Highway 24 (10.9 miles).
TxDOT officials are asking motorists to observe work zone warning signs and be prepared for delays of up to 10 minutes in some areas. When driving through work zones motorists are also reminded to slow down to avoid accidents and broken windshields from loose gravel.
