A wild west shootout is sure to be the main event at the 44th Annual Ladonia Frontier Days Saturday.
Events have been scheduled throughout the day.
The Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary will host a breakfast from 6:30 to 9 a.m. Activities include a hay toss, horse shoe toss, shoe kicking contest, bubble gum blowing contest, watermelon seed pitting contest, free throw contest, sack race, hula hoop contest, stick horse race, raw egg toss, terrapin race, cow chip throwing contest and an arm wrestling contest.
The highlight of the event will be the second generation high noon shoot-out between the Conley Gang and Sulphur Bottom Boys.
The event is being held in conjunction with a rodeo which runs Thursday through Saturday.
The gates open each day at 8:30 p.m. Admission to the rodeo is $6 for adults and $4 for children.
There will be eight traditional events and ranch bronc riding.
Stock producers for the mini bull riding competition are Bad Little Buckers and Broken Arrow Mini Bulls.
Wing Rodeo Company of Bogota is the stock producer for the traditional rodeo activities.
Ron “Iceman” Hunter, professional rodeo clown, will perform nightly.
