On the Beats: Postal shorts ripped off

GREENVILLE — Someone apparently believed those shorts which letter carriers wear as they make their daily rounds looked comfortable and stylish, as several pairs were reported to have been stolen from Campbell late last week.

Seven pairs of postal shorts, costing $80 apiece, were among the items reported stolen from a residence on West North Street in Campbell between 8 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Thursday. Also taken were socks, underwear and loose change.

A green trash can was reported stolen from a residence on FM 2947 near Quinlan between 5 and 7 a.m. last Wednesday.

A vehicle was reported stolen from a residence on Bethel near Quinlan between 9 a.m. May 5 and 10 p.m. Thursday.

One person was reported taken into custody after evading arrest with a vehicle near the intersection of Pump Station Road and Brinwood Drive at 10:52 p.m. Friday.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 205 calls between Friday morning and Sunday night, took 20 people into custody and filed 61 reports. Of those taken into custody, 10 were arrested for outstanding warrants, three for disorderly conduct, two for driving while license suspended/invalid, two for criminal trespass and one each for public intoxication, possession of marijuana and assault/family violence.

District Court

— Candi Lashea White, 27, Rowlett, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of securing the execution of a document by deception and was placed on five years of deferred adjudication probation and was ordered for pay $4,676 in restitution.



County Court-at-Law

— In State of Texas v. Amber Renee Pearl, the defendant's probation for Theft of Property was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Joe Morris Parsons, Jr., the defendant was found guilty of Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Scott Henry Baker, the defendant was found guilty of Possession of a Dangerous Drug. The defendant was sentenced to 75 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Richard Willard, the defendant was found guilty of Violation of a Protective Order. The defendant was sentenced to 75 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Larry Ballou, the defendant was found guilty of Theft of Property by Check. The defendant was sentenced to 60 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. David Edward Martin, the defendant's probation for Possession of Marijuana was revoked. The defendant was sentenced to 75 days in jail.

— In State of Texas v. Donna Michelle Hancock, the defendant was found guilty of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 360 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $100 and ordered to pay court costs.

— In State of Texas v. Kevin Neil Holston, the defendant was found guilty of Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail, probated for 16 months, fined $500 and ordered to pay court costs. The Defendant was further ordered to perform 30 hours of community service, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, to attend a victim impact panel, and to complete DWI education.

— In State of Texas v. Jose Octavio Cabrales, the defendant was found guilty of Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail, probated for 16 months, fined $1,500 and ordered to pay court costs. The Defendant was further ordered to perform 30 hours of community service, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, to attend a victim impact panel, and to complete DWI education.

— In State of Texas v. Jason Wayne Russell, the defendant was found guilty of Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $750 and ordered to pay court costs. The Defendant was further ordered to perform 40 hours of community service, to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, to attend a victim impact panel, and to complete DWI education.

— In State of Texas v. Randy Bruce Wallick, the defendant was found guilty of Possession of a Dangerous Drug. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $200 and ordered to pay court costs.

— In State of Texas v. Adriane Catherine Ayers, the defendant was found guilty of Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $300 and ordered to pay court costs. The Defendant was further ordered to undergo a substance abuse evaluation, to attend a victim impact panel, and to complete DWI education.

— In State of Texas v. Zachary Adam Parra, the defendant was found guilty of Driving While Intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to 120 days in jail, probated for 12 months, fined $300 and ordered to pay court costs.
