LOCAL UPDATE 11 a.m. Monday- Wolfe City officials to discuss discontinuation of written council minutes, set date for loan workshop

WOLFE CITY The city council of Wolfe City is expected to set a workshop date to discuss its recently-awarded loan from the Texas Water Development Board and discuss the discontinuation of written council meeting minutes when it meets tonight.

Earlier this year, the city was approved for a $1,015,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Fund Disadvantaged Community program to pay for water system improvements.

The funds are expected to be used towards improvements at the water treatment plant and the replacement of 5,200 feet of water lines in an effort to improve water quality, cut water loss and improve pressure.

The date for the workshop was to be decided in the April meeting. Instead, the item was tabled.

The council could also discontinue providing written copies of city council minutes.

According to City Secretary Amanda Horst, the council could opt to provide the minutes on a compact disc to those that inquire. In order to get a copy of the minutes, an open records request would have to be filed along with a fee.

The council will also:

• Receive department head progress reports

• Discuss Ennis Tag employee parking on city property located behind the Post Office;

• Possibly approve a revised service area agreement with the Hickory Creek Special Utility District;
