Vandalism reported at a Quinlan area cemetery

GREENVILLE Hunt County Sheriff’s deputies reported a recent case of vandalism at a Quinlan-area cemetery, while they also are investigating a wide range of thefts, burglaries and assaults.

Tombstones were reported to have been turned over at the IOOF Cemetery on County Road 3601 between 2 p.m. March 15 and 3:40 p.m. March 17.

Two catalytic convertors were reported stolen from a business on Highway 34 South near Greenville between sometime last Thursday and 4 p.m. Friday.

A metal and glass door was reported damaged during a burglary of a business at the intersection of Highway 50 and FM 499 in Campbell between 8 p.m. last Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.

Two syringes were reported stolen from a barn on County Road 3616 between 7:30 p.m. last Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday.

A 200-gallon propane tank was reported stolen Friday from a business at Highway 276 East and FM 751 between March 1 and March 12.

A residence on County Road 2472 near Royse City was reported burglarized between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday.

An attempted burglary of a residence was reported to have occurred on Highway 69 North between 1 and 2:27 p.m. Saturday.

A four-wheeler was reported stolen from a residence on Highway 66 near Royse City between 11:59 p.m. March 11 and 10:21 a.m. Sunday.

An assault by threat was reported to have occurred at a residence on Gaillard Woods near Wills Point between 6:53 p.m. March 17 and 2:28 p.m. Friday.

One person reported being shaken and squeezed during an assault at a residence on Private Road 3348 between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. Friday.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to 70 calls Monday, took five people into custody and filed 21 reports.

Of those people taken into custody, three people were arrested for outstanding warrants and one each for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance/possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
