To the editor:
Newell Rubbermaid Inc. will relocate production jobs from a plant in Texas to an Ohio facility, where the company said it will invest more than $25 million and create about 140 full-time jobs, the Akron Beacon Journal reported Monday.
Ohio granted the Atlanta-based company $3 million in tax credits this week in exchange for retaining existing jobs at its Mogadore, Ohio, plant, which must remain in that location for at least 18 years to keep the tax credit.
The 700-employee Mogadore injection molding facility produces food storage containers and other products. Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE:NWL) is closing a 490-employee plant in Texas and moving those operations to Mogadore and Kansas.

What is rescue all about?
Rescue is a calling for most people.
Who are we backing?
It is amazing that President Obama, who only five years ago was the staunch anti-war (and anti-Bush) freshman Senator from Illinois, is now whole-heartedly throwing his support behind Syrian rebels to topple the Assad regime.
A big thank you
A huge THANK YOU to the many people who stopped by our booth at Rally Round Greenville.
Top notch crew
On Saturday morning, Sept. 14, I had a TIA. I was sure that was what it was because my right arm felt like lead.
Thank you for your help
It just wouldn’t seem right for me not to submit a very heartfelt message to my friends and former colleagues at the Hunt County Courthouse after last weekend’s Rally ‘Round Greenville.
Medal finally awarded to Murphy
Governor Rick Perry this past week awarded the Texas Legislative Medal of Honor to America’s “most decorated” combat soldier of WWII Audie Murphy.
